To become a BAKE member, you need to register with us. Registration is open for Kenyan blogs that are run by Kenyans or people living in Kenya that generate original content.
Use these steps to register with us:
1. Create an account:
Go to the link bake.co.ke/register and fill in your details like shown below, then click on ‘Create Account’
2. Check your email for a confirmation.
A message from firstname.lastname@example.org will be sent to your inbox at the email address provided during registration.
If you use Gmail, you should be able to find the above message under ‘updates’, failure to which you can check your Spam mail.
Clicking on ‘Verify’ will confirm your email address.
3. Log in to the platform
Using the login details that you provided during registration, log into your account using this link: bake.co.ke/login that will lead you to this page:
4. Add your blog(s)
Now add your blog URL and remember to click on “Check’ in order for your blog to be verified and for your blog’s RSS to be pulled from your blog automatically. Enter the details of your blog including your blog category, description, Facebook URL and Twitter handle. Click on ‘Submit’ to save this information.
If you cannot find a suitable category for your blog, kindly choose the ‘General’ category and get in touch with us so that we can add a category that best suits your blog.
5. Pay Registration Fee:
To complete your membership, send Kshs. 1,036 for individual blog and Kshs. 2,036 for a corporate blog to Paybill number 865850 via Mpesa using the following simple steps:
- Go to the Mpesa Menu on your phone
- Select Lipa Na Mpesa
- Select Pay Bill
- Enter Business Number i.e 865850
- Enter account Number i.e 1245
- Input your pin to complete the transaction.
6. Confirmation of Payment:
Once payment is received (and a confirmation received via our Mpesa system), your membership is verified on the site and your blog is activated. You can then update your profile.
NB: Membership verification done only when we confirm payment on our end. This is done during working hours of 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. You will then receive an email from us requesting for your passport photo which will be used to create your membership card.
7. Add Badge to your blog:
Add the code for the BAKE badge on your blog. You get to choose from the different sizes for both bright and clear backgrounds (see badges below) depending on your preference and suitability to your blog.
8. Request a blog tracker:
Request for a tracker for your blog by clicking on the ‘Request tracker’ button shown in the picture below;
9. Tracker setup & Activation:
Our IT Manager will setup your tracker and send you a notification once it is activated with instructions on how to set it up.
Follow these simple steps and voila! Your blog will be listed on our website alongside other member blogs.
