Mical Imbukwa is a blogger, upcoming YouTube content creator and an all-time amazing human being. She has a quiet demeanour and kind aura that, makes you comfortable in her presence. She is also a self-proclaimed introvert, and as a content creator, her words have inspired those who follow her, both online and offline.
We asked her a few questions, and this is what she had to say.
- Share something interesting about yourself
I am an introverted extrovert. I enjoy my own company more. I talk to myself and laugh at my own jokes so hysterically.
- What was your first phone?
My first phone was a Nokia 2220. One evening it slid and fell in a pot of water and that was the end of it.
- What attracted/inspired you into blogging?
I have always been a fan of writing but my blogging journey started in my second year of college. Creating a blog was part of the Online Writing unit but for me, that provided an avenue for me to document my stories. I started with BlogSpot then shifted to WordPress because I was convinced that it is more professional.
- What accomplishments are you proud of most?
Writing won me an Air fryer (lol) but that is not just it. Writing has put me on the edge of competition in many organizations for it is through it I am noticed and recognized most. Writing has earned me positions without me even struggling for them. I am also proud of the fact that anything I set my mind on, I accomplish. Like right now I am on a mission to monetize my YouTube channel before the end of July and I am confident that I will achieve that and more. My best is that I have been the voice of the voiceless in many instances.
- If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Proactive, confident and compassionate
- What is your favourite food, song, book, movie?
My favourite food is rice and chicken. My favourite song, Too Faithful by Moses Bliss. I love the book called How to Raise Your Own Salary. It addresses the 17 success principles. This life-changer book was given to me by my mentor. I have several movies that I love but my all-time favourite is War Room.
- If you were not blogging, what would you be instead?
I would be somewhere in a humanitarian organization attending to the needs of the vulnerable in society. Or, I would be in a psychiatric ward counselling people and calming storms in their minds. I so much love calming storms.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
I have a laid-out plan for my organization Miabi Creatives which is geared towards content creation. In five years, I see us fully established in Kenya with a proper sustainable model, having a well-paid manageable staff of proactive youth. We are focused on achieving SDG 8 which is Decent Work and Economic Growth.
- Is there a quote/mantra you live by?
I believe in growth and that is precisely why I am always open to learning. This mantra “as you know more, you grow more”, runs my days.
- If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
Definitely Superman. Crime irks me. If I had the superman power, I would definitely end it. Our societies and systems need to be sanitized.
- What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Circle of Concern and circle of influence. The moment I learnt how to distinguish the two, my life became more peaceful. I now only focus on what I can change. What is beyond me, I let it be.
